          The Security of your delivery

          Monday, March 30th, 2020

          trust no one.

I have been the only person in the room since March 16th, i wear a p100 mask (better than n95) and goggles at the store, yes i plan to use the same cartridges for a long while, and the mask does get washed in a multi- ammonium solution not the cartridges though.

i have store clothing. clothing for my car, and clothing for the roastery, as well as packing on an all copper bar. i also have gloves for inside the car, gloves for delivery, and gloves for the store. when i get home i strip down, shower, then sanitize my phones and glasses. overboard- maybe.

if anyone leaves a check or money i dont touch that with my hands.

im afraid of breathing next to you. I am being mindful of every step i take. And again- if i remotely feel sick i will shut down and let you know. actually working to document all people that i deliver to-.

your coffee is roasted by me- in a room with only myself, and handled by myself. i do not touch doorways, i wash up to my elbows when packing although only my wrists go in, but i am taking full concern. that being said

          that being said-

use something to open the bags of coffee,
transfer it when received and recycle the package,

the inside is good but lets be safe.

and when i start mailing coffee- dont touch the box- open and be safe,

if we all work together than this could be better.

          Now accepting Paypal

          Monday, March 30th, 2020

I guess businesses must use Paypal, and not Venmo, Venmo is supposedly for friends, and Paypal business. im unsure if people can send money to me without me first sending an invoice. This is day one of me logging into Paypal.

COURIERCOFFEEPORTLAND@GMAIL.COM is the contact for all orders, and also linked to the Paypal. I do have a Venmo account as well,

I need to roast a little for a grocery store today. Please if you want to walk in email me ahead. i did promise a handful of deliveries today. i would like to dedicate the bulk of time to figuring out shipping, and switching the website to online sales. Normally we are roasting every day, but im going to need a few days to gather myself and discover the new process. Thank you for understanding. and stay tuned.

if you know that you owe me money for goods, and you send it via Paypal- make sure you include identifiers- like- the address i delivered to, name, and perhaps phone as well. All the Milk i gave away should be free- eggs 7.70 a dozen (i paid 7 a dozen for them, and despite any label they are fresh). Thank you so much best joel courier

be safe stay home- ten foot distance, and read up on PPE.

          Saturday, March 28th, 2020

Delivering to grocery stores, i wear as much PPE as i can.

i wear long sleeve cotton, cotton pants (which bond like crazy to organic material like germs), rubberized gloves with a nitrale coating, that are soaked in sanitizer every night (using test strips, in the amount needed to keep blood born pathogens dead) and ive got three sets- one for the car, one for external and one for all else.

i am practicing proper PPE protection, and no cross contamination. nothing i touch touches something else.

I am not a doctor, or health professional, and you should not trust me at all, but im very good at what i do. I take a lot of pride in what i do as an ocd person.

          so – lets say you
buy some coffee from us- and you have concerns – i will walk you through it. im not qualified as a health professional, but feel comfortable warning you or anyone about concerns from buying coffee from a store. or from myself.

in this time your worry is not just a worry- its a way to make both you and your family stronger.

          Be brave, and be strong.

please practice distance ten feet from other people. and be brave. anyone.

i have no fear being here for anyone.

although i have a deep worry-

          drove the loop today

          Thursday, March 26th, 2020

After careful planning, i drove a loop around the city.

This reminded me of when i used to do newspaper delivery (in the same stick shift 1993 Toyota Corrolla). Newspaper delivery drove me to three things-

          1) switching the radio to a CD player
          2) upgrading the CD player with a cable to run my minidisc player
          3) promising myself that i would never deliver by car again.

          And here we are.

Other eventful things- first time ever getting bitten by a dog on my route today. the little guy bit me six times. the dog was pretty cute though, and i think it did not break skin. happy end to the story the dog made it back inside. coffee prices will now include hazard fee. hahaha.

everyone on my route today did a great job with social distancing, wow you guys are winners. some of you live pretty far out there. being born in the city, and not using google maps- today was a challenge with the added people. n and ne portland are always a bit odd for me, but i can get by, today was a test. (im a SE portland person, but can still navigate).

actually thinking back to drivers education at Grant Highschool- my instructor would tell me to go to the airport, or head to lake oswego without any direction. just say- just head to where you think it is. wonder what happened to that person. he was a lot of things but had a passion for parallel parking, and also instructed me how to back up at full speed and brake and spin then go, all with a stick shift. what a gem.

hang in there. if there is some special help you need, or if you are bored- well i have a family, but i will be checking my email, while it would be great to make money, we are all in this together.

I drove a loop today in hopes i wont have to for next week.

          accounts- email couriercoffeeportland@gmail.com

basically since i overstocked most everyone- sent me an email.

hang on- and love from courier.
          best joel

Thank god its raining- this is the time if ever for you to go on that excercise walk and get outside if you are not shelter in place

          Monday, March 23rd, 2020

Rain or water molecules will bond to organic matter and take that matter with it- to the ground. a lighter rain would be fine. this is the perfect time to go for a run if you are not in a Shelter in Place area.

Rain is also the perfect time to break into a car or business as it muffles the sound of glass shattering.

Rain could also make people not want to go outside- which is also great.

Also since many have just started planting rain will help make the seeds grow, and save farmers, and households money for water. Just as we all hope the sunny and hot days will boost our health, and sunrays create a bad environment for germs.

But remember- water is a carrier- it bonds to whatever- good or bad.

full dry hands after an over 30 second handwashing, wet hands will bond, and then transmit bacteria. Means wet hands on a dirty surface will bond, pick up and transfer to the next. wet hands on your face then on an item.

Today- its raining. tomorrow i hope so as well.

Bruce Willis saved earth once, and he can do it again.

          Sunday, March 22nd, 2020

          Remember that one time.

i will post my movie and drama recommendations later.

          Brave customers.

          Saturday, March 21st, 2020

packing and labeling 200 packages by hand, thank you for holding on.

much love for all- stores are late but i will stock today.

shout out to those people who are super isolated- please donate blood and get your dna tested to be a potential doner for bone marrow, if you are brave.

if you donate i will play some hero quest with you.

          wow- what an offer.

but really this is an incredible time, lets help each other out, and think about all our friends or family members who have cancer, or patients who need blood. i honestly dont know why we are not going to a WW2 level and making all factories help. currently all i can do is help you with coffee.

because im a glass is half empty kind of person if you havnt noticed, if i hear of anyone i deliver to getting something close to the virus i will post it here. on this blog, and on all social media that i have in my power. if anyone i come into contact with, or if some ill should happen to myself.

if the conditions are right- meaning i dont have to step foot inside a hospital, tent, im thinking about starting to donate blood again, and im already on the bone marrow donor list. lets help our neighbors and help our friends, and perhaps the friends and loved ones we have never even met before.

          be brave.
and by brave i also mean fear, not touching your face, keeping social distance, and also be willing to help others in need. and remember coughing in an enclosed space the particles linger. elevators, cars, boxes, they float invisible in the air.

I envy the single people now.

OCD courier coffee dealing with the new corona virus world

          Saturday, March 21st, 2020

I mentioned earlier on copper killing 99.9% of germs in 2 hours. CDC tests have tested Corona Virus at 4 hours living on copper. luckily im gone all night and no one comes into the room except me.

I will be wearing an n95 respirator when going into grocery stores, my own research says that once the cartridge packet is opened they are ok for a while. and since medical people are reusing masks i will as well, I mean, once they clog up you can tell as its harder to breath, and the main issue is moisture growing its on bacteria if wet, throw it ontop of my constant heat source at the roastery dries up super quick- just like when leaving your half wet towels in the drier for a night, never good to let a face mask, tools, or laundry stay moist.

Im increasing my soak time in Oasis 146 multi-quatra- ammonium to 5 minutes for all items.

Instead of gloves- using a plastic bag.

A heart breaking moment yesterday was having my sister visit- we had a nice walk, and she seems less concerned about distancing. Toward the end she was getting ready to leave (didnt let her in the house). Our daughter, 4 years, was playing and forgot the distance, and started to run up to hug her goodbye, and since she doesnt really stop when asked i grabbed her when a foot away and pulled her back- not harshly of course, but then the crying started. and it lasted for a while, and because i cant stand too long because of my back problems and just the immense stress im under, i let mom take care of it, before retreating to a chair in the house after obsessively washing my hands again and soaking my keys in sanitizer.

There are two theories that im hearing- some normal people with no medical background are saying- 4 days of quarantine no sign of symptoms but i have allergies- im fine. some others and i think the entire world is saying 4 weeks at least, maybe longer. Even the people in charge are getting sick…

if we all only stayed home for 4 days- and the virus just went away- then why is everyone shutting down for much longer, why are people getting so close in the grocery stores and highschoolers in portland attending basketball games, why are the people at Costco getting the virus? why were bowling alleys in portland still open.

using plastic bags as gloves for taking things, quarantining paper and boxes that come to your home before opening. keeping away from enclosed spaces in business to pick up delivery. If your a medical person and need a mask what about making them out of n95 air filters from the store- lots of that on the shelves (CORRECTION, THEY DONT EXIST, FILTERS SAY OK FOR VIRUSES, BUT NO N95 CLASS, STILL BETTER THAN A SURGICAL MASK- BUT NOT CORRECT. and what about getting together in a park- with a bunch of your friends in a big circle and kicking a ball around? the one who brings the ball is the one who touches.

im not really worried about myself, or my partner (i mean if something happened hope she would feel slightly bad), but i do really worry about my daughter, and that she doesnt understand all of this, and i worry about all of my customers and people who get the coffee. My mother died from cancer when i was younger, and the people i deliver to have diabetes, heart disease, cancer survivors, you name it. I grew up not putting my toothbrush with others, not sharing toothpaste, or plates, and with a water temperature that could cause first degree burns in the house.

Later in life living with my Thai housemate in my last year of college, we only ate out of one bowl, shared one cup, when asked “why” i was told- “in my family we only eat out of one bowl”. They were poor, parked the car next to the bed so it would not get stolen, and grew up playing in the creek of sewage behind the house in Bangkok. Kind of like Lava Monster, except a little more serious. ive always cringed about sharing a toothbrush, but on the otherside there are reasons thats ok. so im going back to being paranoid, and luckily ive hit the perfect age in life where i dont care what you think. im going to wear an industrial respirator, and goggles (do you notice i always have my goggles anyway). when that fire season hit i had n95 masks for all my staff, and i still do. biking through firesmoke is no good.

maybe soccer with the neighbors today, while keeping 10 feet apart. please stay tuned working on online ordering- thanks to Bike Portland i think i have the push i need to contract with other bike companies to get product out, and keep tuned. i have 40 gallons of milk that need getting rid of and ill do it at cost. logistics is a huge huge thing currently.

I dont want to spread panic, but good practices. but as a deliveryperson i fear for all of you, as i fear for my daughter. much love, all of us at courier- joel
this is a hasty post, and i will work on my paragraph separation at a later time. more and more updates, to follow.

          what a frustrating day-

          Thursday, March 19th, 2020

luckily i was visited by a portland legend- and im delivering milk and eggs to him later today, im moving to just bringing people what they need.

dont go out, and if you have elderly people or people in danger read my past posts and let me deliver for free!

im also able to make n95 face masks, from air filters, and can sew. CORRECTION AS OF MARCH 23, CHECKED THE CLASS OF FILTER, ITS LOWER THAN N95 SO NO GOOD.

anything i delivered sealed will be soaked in sanitizer. except coffee- which has its own clean area and will be untouched.

im also delivering books and board games, hero quest will cost serious money though.

and im sorry but Portland Fire Department, and Portland Government- has been a complete ruin. i read their posts on twitter, they asked us to donate medical grade masks and gloves, but when you call they tell you no. seems like every fire department person has no clue. ive asked them to remove their posts. when i called the fire department they said that i should not call city officials, but hold onto what i have. contrary to the website do not donate is what ive been told three times.

just trying to help. you ALL can help me by letting me know what i can do.

i am searching on how to help deliver food and medical supplies.
i will and can do everything possible. crap

          best joel
